Tonydachi Life: gobbling up all the food in Tomodachi Life, one meal at a time

A Mii chases after some rogue grocery items in this image from Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

It’s almost hard to believe it, but 2026 gifted Nintendo fans an unlikely continuation of a dormant franchise, when they released the long-awaited Mother 4 Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

It’s just as wacky and weird as you’d hope, and loaded with 465 different types of photorealistic food. Feeding them to your Miis for the first time can be a tense experience. Will they like it? Will they hate it? Will they collapse in a heap, gasping for air and wondering why you subjected them to such torture?

It’s all part of the fun, but it begs the question… How much would I like these foods myself? With that in mind, I’m undertaking a silly, flippant project that I have dubbed Tonydachi Life (how clever), where I attempt to test out as many of the game’s foods and drinks as I can in order to decide where I sit on the gourmand spectrum.

Depending on their complexity, I will either attempt to make each foodstuff firsthand or buy it from a suitable restaurant. The only condition I’m setting is that it has to at least resemble the image in-game.

Will I manage to scoff up all 465 items? Or am I doomed to get stuffed within the first dozen? Do I have a contingency plan for the potentially dangerous ones like sour milk? We’ll just have to wait and see as I set out to live the dream!
